| Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) |
 |
The LTAD was developed by Canadian Sport for Life (CS4L) as a developmental pathway whereby athletes follow optimal
training, competition, and recovery regimens from childhood through all phases of adulthood.
Every National Sporting Organization including the Canadian Cycling Association has produced a sport specific LTAD.
The cycling LTAD outlines areas for improvement such as coaching, competitions and facilities. It makes age appropriate
recommendations for cyclists based on which stage they are in.
